Look for this logo and you will have found a BEAR DEN DOCENT or a TRAILSIDE NATURALIST. Docents & Naturalists are volunteers trained to interpret the exhibits and answer your questions. If you have a question, please ask them. They are here to make your visit a more pleasant and informative one. (x293)

 

Members of the Bear Mountain LEAGUE OF NATURALISTS are volunteers who help conduct research in the Bear Mountain/Harriman State Parks. Their observations are part of an ongoing biodiversity study in the park. (x293) 

 

TRAILSIDE INTERNSHIPS: Trailside interns have received scholarships from their college/university and have acquired positions at the Bronx Zoo.

Environmental Interpretation and Wildlife Care Internship: This internship will allow the qualified individual an opportunity to work in our museums/zoo/nature trail setting, matching academic and career interests. (x278)

Biodiversity Research Data Internship: This internship will allow the qualified individual an opportunity to work with our ongoing Biodiversity Survey of Bear Mountain/Harriman State Parks, a 54,000 acre preserve in the Hudson Highlands, 40 miles north of New York City. (x299)
