Many raptors can be difficult to identify, like this RED-TAILED HAWK. You may be able to help yourself identify a bird you've seen in the Park by paying a visit to our Nature Study Museum.

In the NATURE STUDY MUSEUM you can see the wide variety of animals found in the Bear Mountain State Park area. The many mounted specimens give a visitor a close look at dragonflies, bird eggs and much more. (All specimens were donated by the Museum of Natural History many many years ago.)

Each of our museum buildings houses different exhibits. Click on the museum you’d like to visit.
