Welcome to the Trailside Museums & Zoo’s website!

Here you'll see pictures of our 32 acres, overlooking the scenic Hudson River. You can read about our two-mile paved interpretive nature trail, our resident native, non-releasable wildlife, and our four museum buildings which house exhibits that interpret the geology, and natural history of the area and tell the story of the people who lived here.

Then plan your visit! Trailside is located 40 miles north of New York City in New York State's Bear Mountain State Park. Here you can follow the famed Appalachian Trail as it traverses its lowest point. Meet the animals. Check out the museums. Attend a special event. We look forward to seeing you!

Trailside is jointly administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historical Preservation, and the Palisades Interstate Park Commission.
