*We
ask that all large groups break up into smaller groups with no more
than 10 people in each group and that any one UNDER the age of 18 years of
age be accompanied by an adult at ALL
TIMES.
While
visiting Trailside please observe the following:
NO PETS
NO FOOD or PICNICKING – this
includes behind the History Museum
STAY ON
THE PATH at all times –
this is for YOUR SAFETY
Keep noise and movement to a minimum. We try to keep the animals’ environment as
natural as possible, and we ask that you and your group act like quiet
observers of nature. Please do not
scream or wave at the animals, or knock on the glass or fencing to try to
get their attention. The animals will become stressed by your presence and
will be more likely to hide from you.
Do
NOT feed or annoy the
animals (This includes banging on, throwing things/food/coins, into the
enclosures or at the animals) This is animal endangerment and it is
illegal.
Please
keep all TOYS, ALL SPORTS EQUIPMENT, BIKES, ROLLERBLADES / SKATES, SCOOTERS
& SKATEBOARDS in your
vehicle, they are Not
permitted in Trailside.
*Parking
is $6.00 per vehicle at the Bear Mountain State Park main parking lot. Vehicles capable of carrying
more than 15 passengers require a special permit. For special permits
please contact the Bear Mountain Office at (845) 786-2701 Ext: 242. Special needs access is available.

DIRECTIONS
From
New York City and New
Jersey:
Take the Palisades
Interstate Parkway North to the Bear Mountain Circle. Follow signs for Bear Mountain State Park.
From
Westchester: Take the Taconic, Bear Mountain Parkway, or Rte. 9D to the Bear Mountain Bridge. After the crossing the bridge, follow signs for Route 9W South and
Bear Mountain State Park.
From Newburgh and
points North: Take Rte. 9W South to Bear Mountain Circle. Follow signs for Bear Mountain State Park.
